Cinq will access the last saved view in iPhoto.  This information is saved into the AlbumData.xml file from iPhoto.  This file is only saved upon Quit of iPhoto.

For instance, if you change select Events and then click view in iPhoto, then select Event Sort, Descending.  This will order the events from newest to oldest so that you won't have to scroll to the bottom of the list to see the newest every time on the iPhone or iPad.

I second that I love cinq but no longer use iphoto albums. I too would really prefer the option to view iPhoto events…

I really like Cinq. Now that Google has bought Simplify Media and
Simplify Photo is going away, Cinq is my go-to solution.
Actually, I wish I'd found Cinq first, b/c Simplify Photo frankly
never worked that well for large photo libraries like I have.

However, I do have a feature request for Cinq.  I really stopped using
iPhoto albums about two  ago when I switched to iPhoto '08
and its event-based organization scheme.  Now, all of albums are
pretty much gone, and I use events in iPhoto to organize photos.
Could you add support for viewing photos by Event, too?  I know it's
not directly supported by iPhoto's applescript interface, but
there are any of several different ways it could be done.

I thinkmost users are probably like me now, and use events instead of albums,
since that's iPhoto's default now.  Currently, with Cinq and no albums
you have to search the whole photo library, which is impractical
with nearly 20K photos!

I can get close to what I want by turning off iPhoto syncing, and instead
pointing Cinq to the "Originals" folder inside the iPhoto library, but
tighter integration would be desirable, as this loses any information about
albums, and doesn't get any modifications.

Also, could you have the option to display folder contents by date instead of alphabetically? At least that way browsing the Originals/2010/ folder would show events (folders) in the
right order, instead of April and then January!
